Until recently a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome, Italy, Chapman has had work featured in exhibitions at the American Museum of the Moving Image (Queens, New York), Fundacao Armando Álvares Penteado (Sao Paulo, Brazil), and Carnegie Art Center (Buffalo, New York), among other venues. His Starling Drawings were included in Illuminations, a recent exhibition atMassMoCA (North Adams, Massachusetts). Chapman received his B.A. in Aesthetics from University of Redlands and his MFA in writing from New School University. Chapman grew up on O'ahu, just outside of Honolulu, Hawaii. He now lives in Los Angeles. He has taught at Yale, NYU, and Parsons New School for Design.
